Duff photo by Ross Halfin

While looking around for a photo to put with the below VR story, I came across Ross Halfin's website. I hadn't visited the site in a while. Ross is one of rock's best photographers. His work is everywhere. So many albums, magazines, posters, websites, articles, etc. He has been doing the job for about 30 years, so yeah he knows how to take a great rock photo.

Check out his site here. He has a blog that is updated regularly with stories from his travels as well as funny anecdotes about the rock world. And plenty of awesome photos.

So the photo. He took this photo of Velvet Revolver (and ex GNR) bass player Duff McKagan. Its just so reminiscent of a late 80's photo of Duff. Except Duff isnt a bloated boozer anymore. Man, the photos and video of Duff circa 1992-1994 are just shocking. From the skinny punk to the fat alco he became. Its good to see the cleanup he went through in the mid 90's has lasted.

And im enjoying this new embed a YouTube video into the blog thing (well, its new to me). So heres a few cool Duff videos i found.
